The maison les deux welcomes you

You will find our Bed and Breakfast “Les Deux” in the little French town of Cercy la Tour in a beautiful big old house, with a tower, next to convenient shopping area (pharmacy, baker, épicerie…) and train station. The village of Cercy La Tour is located in the south part of Burgundy. This lovely Ninernais-village is a very nice place for an overnight stay or a short holiday. The early Remparts were built on a rock formation at an altitude of 201 meters. It has beautiful views of the valleys of the Aron, the Aléne, and the Nivernais canal which goes through town.
The house is about a hundred years old and has a large terrace with a view of the nice garden and surroundings. If the weather permits you can have your breakfast outside.
Two nice bedrooms are available : One bedroom for 2 persons and one suite for 2/4 persons. Each room has a private bathroom. Books and games are available on the first floor lounge where you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea. We speak French and English and a little bit of Spanish.

Presentation of the region

Cercy la Tour is a little French town with a lot of water traffic during the summer due to the canal du Nivernais which floats through the town. The municipal swimming pool is open during the summer months (June through August) and is adjacent to the camping grounds and the tennis courts. You will also find the usual small cafés/bars/restaurants typical of French villages and a few small shops. It is with pleasure that we will give you advice on good restaurants in the area. For shopping and to visit a typical French market you should go to Decize (15 km.) The city of Nevers (about three quarters of one hour drive) is also worth a visit with its beautiful castle and buildings. Don’t forget to visit the villages of Château-Chinon and Châtillon en Bazois! You can also visit the local brocantes, some of which are open all year around. The surrounding is hilly with a lot of green, forests and water. Cercy la Tour is located in the South of the Burgundy. It is a part of France where good food, wine and culture are a way of life and the historical monuments in Dijon and Beaune are witness to the rich life of the past. It is very suitable for biking and hiking. Cercy La Tour is on the route which takes you through beautiful hilly landscapes and canals.

Nevers with its historical buildings:

Other activities in the Morvan are the numerous markets with their local specialties. The “marché du cadran” and the « Maison du Charolais in Moulin Engilbert are worth stopping by and you can also visit the Magny Court formula 1 racing track . A few medieval and “clunisien“ castles and sites must also be visited.
